Our Bi-Xenon headlights with dynamic cornering light give up to 90% better illumination of corners as the headlight beam will swivel to follow the angle of your steering wheel.

How does it work?

The steering movement of the headlight units, which include small servomotors, is controlled by signals from the steering angle sensor, among other things. The maximum swivel angle of the cornering lights is 15 degrees. This gives you early warning of any hazards and some vital extra time to react.

Three months ahead of its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show, Volkswagen is providing a first look at the fascinating contours of its new top saloon, the Arteon. The totally new model sits above the Passat and emphasises emotionality in the upper mid-class .

In addition to a new and very emotive outline, Volkswagen is also introducing with the Arteon a highly expressive, horizontally accentuated brand look. The bars of the radiator grille extend here into the three-dimensional front headlights, while LED lighting elements additionally emphasise the striking layout and demonstrate dominance.

The four-door saloon impresses both through revolutionary design and great practical value in use. While the doors' frameless windows reflect the typical stylistic elements of a grand tourer, the top-hinged and wide-opening tailgate provides optimum access to the huge boot. Tobias Sühlmann, Exterior Designer, explains: “At first sight, the Arteon arouses enthusiasm through its expressive design. It then surprises through its practical virtues. This combination is unique!"

The name Arteon – with the emphasis put on the first syllable – is made up of two component parts: 'Art' describes the saloon's harmonious lines and emotionality. The ending 'eon' identifies it, in the same way as Volkswagen's top model for the Chinese market, the PHIDEON, as a premium model.

The new Arteon is being publicly unveiled for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show; its launch will then follow in summer 2017.

Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV) use a high voltage battery which can be charged via an external power source as well as by the vehicle's own charging system.

Volkswagen's range of Plug-in Hybrid electric vehicles is represented by the GTE badge. The Golf GTE and Passat GTE are currently available, both with the increased performance of a battery and an electric motor. Battery charging is made possible via a mains or charging point connection. They have both a combustion engine and a lithium-ion high-voltage battery driving an electric motor. On purely electric energy, they can travel up to 31 miles between charges and when electric and petrol combine the total range can be up to 580 miles. The Golf GTE offers the dynamics of a GTI alongside the extra sustainability of an e-vehicle.

The GTE is fuelled by petrol with a standard fuel filler, with an electric socket behind the Volkswagen roundel on the front of the vehicle (Golf GTE) for e-charging. To charge the high-voltage battery with the standard mains charging cable, a standard mains socket can be utilised for around 3 hours 45 minutes. With an optional wall box or at a public charging station it takes 2 hours 15 minutes. A wall box has 55% higher charger performance than a mains socket. Please note that there is no DC charge facility for the Golf GTE.
